Super Easy Sticky Date-Toffee Toast

A quick, satisfying combination that comes together in minutes. Warm toast layered with soft, toffee-like Kholas dates, balanced with creamy cottage cheese, fresh fruit, and finished with a drizzle of raw date syrup. Simple, but incredibly good.

Benefits of This Sticky Date-Toffee Toast

  • Quick and easy to prepare
  • Made with simple, everyday ingredients
  • Naturally sweetened with dates and raw date syrup
  • Perfect for breakfast or a quick snack

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 4 Kholas dates (pitted)
  • 2 tablespoons cottage cheese
  • 1 banana (sliced) or other fruit of choice (e.g. strawberries)
  • Raw date syrup (to drizzle)

Instructions

1. Toast the bread

Toast the slices until golden and still warm.

2. Prepare the date layer

Place two pitted Kholas dates on each slice. Using a fork, press them down firmly into the toast until they form a smooth, sticky, toffee-like layer. Pressed Kholas dates are ideal for this, as their soft, buttery texture makes them easy to spread.

3. Add the cottage cheese

Spread about one tablespoon of cottage cheese onto each slice.

4. Add the toppings

Top with sliced banana or your preferred fruit. Halved dates or sliced berries also work really well.

5. Enjoy!

Drizzle raw date syrup over both slices and enjoy immediately.

Serving Suggestions

  • Enjoy while the toast is still warm for the best texture
  • Add extra date pieces on top for a richer flavor
  • Pair with coffee or tea for a simple, balanced snack

Variations and Tips

  • Swap banana for strawberries, berries, or seasonal fruit
  • Use more dates for a thicker, more intense base layer
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth
