Premium Sukari Dates – 1 Kg

Sukari - The Gulf’s Golden Favorite

Sukari dates are a favorite in the Gulf region, prized for their caramel sweetness and golden crowns. Grown in the fertile desert soils of Al-Ghat, a historic oasis town in Saudi Arabia, they’re known for being among the sweetest varieties in the world, with a distinct honey-caramel flavor that sets them apart. Their soft, rich texture is balanced by a crystallized crown that offers just the right crunch, a contrast that makes them especially satisfying to eat.

Unmatched in Sweetness and Texture

These dates are often called “sugary sweet” for good reason. The golden crown at the top of each fruit is intensely sweet, almost like a natural sugar cube. Beneath it, the body of the date is soft and sticky with a deep honeyed flavor that lingers. It’s a combination that surprises many people the first time they try Sukari. They’re significantly sweeter than most dates sold in Europe and have a texture that’s both chewy and crisp at the crown. That contrast is part of what makes them so memorable.

How Pressed Dates Are Made

Our pressed dates follow an age-old tradition that dates back to the Middle East. After the harvest, the dates are left in the sun to ripen further for several weeks. This natural process allows the dates to develop even more sweetness and depth of flavor. Once they have reached the perfect level of ripeness, the dates are gently pressed to release some of their naturally produced raw date syrup. This syrup helps preserve the fruit and acts as a natural preservative, much like honey. The dates are then packed in an airtight seal in order to ensure that the dates arrive to you the same way they left the farm. What you get is nothing more than pure, sun-ripened fruit in its most natural form, no additives, no treatments, just dates.

Single-Origin from Al-Ghat

All our Sukari dates come from one farm in Al-Ghat, Saudi Arabia, not mixed or blended with dates from other farms. This allows for better quality control, consistency, and full traceability. It also means we’re able to maintain a strong relationship with the growers, supporting responsible and sustainable farming practices and a supply chain we fully trust. Our dates are untreated, meaning they’re free from pesticides, preservatives, treatments, and additives. What ends up in your hands is a direct product of that partnership: single-origin and untreated Sukari, harvested and packed with care.

A Classic Pairing with Coffee

In the Middle East, Sukari dates are often served with Arabic coffee or espresso. It’s more than a habit; it’s a deeply rooted tradition. The sweetness of the dates balances out the bitterness of strong coffee, enhancing its depth and creating a smoother, more satisfying experience. It’s also a natural pairing in terms of energy: the sugar in the dates and the caffeine in the coffee make for a simple, time-honored way to start the day. Whether you’re sharing a pot of coffee with friends or just enjoying a quiet moment in the morning, this pairing carries both flavor and meaning.

Not Just for Snacking

Sukari are delicious straight out of the pack, but they’re also incredibly versatile. We like to pair them with a square of dark chocolate or stuff them with a slice of hard Gruyère from our local cheesery here in Sommeri, TG. If you’re into sweet-on-sweet combinations, try drizzling them with our raw date syrup for a rich, layered treat.

They also hold up well in baking. The golden crowns offer a unique, incomparable crunch to cookies, cakes, or even granola. Some people use them in homemade energy bars or chop them into porridge or yogurt. That slight crunch from the crown gives them a quality almost like a toasted nut, adding depth wherever they go.

Storage and Shelf Life

Our current batch of Sukari is best before 18.07.2027, but pressed dates are known for their long shelf life. Thanks to their low moisture and high natural sugar content, they stay stable and delicious well past the printed date if stored properly. Keep them somewhere cool, dark, and dry. A pantry or cupboard is ideal. Refrigeration isn’t necessary after opening, but it also won’t hurt. Just make sure the pack is transferred into an airtight container once opened to maintain freshness and flavor. If natural crystallization occurs, don’t worry! It’s completely normal and enhances the dates’ complexity and flavor.

Perfect for Trying Sukari or Small Households

This 1 Kg pack is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy Sukari dates without committing to a full bulk box. It's the perfect size for smaller households, gifting, or for those new to Sukari who want to experience its unique flavor and texture. Whether you're stocking up for everyday enjoyment or simply curious about one of the Middle East's most cherished date varieties, this pack offers a great introduction to Sukari.
