Only two ingredients go into these cacao dates: pitted Kholas dates and 100% cacao mass from Bolivia. The cacao is completely pure, no sugar, cocoa butter, or additives of any kind. From our Partner Permaculture Farm in Al-Ghat

The Kholas dates come from our partner permaculture farm in Al-Ghat, a historic oasis region in central Saudi Arabia. The palms there grow in mixed planting systems alongside other trees and crops, keeping the soil alive and fertile without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Every date is harvested by hand and dried naturally under the sun. It's traditional farming at its best; slow, sustainable, and respectful of nature.

Pure Cacao from Bolivia

The cacao is 100% cacao mass, made from whole, ground cocoa beans grown in Bolivia. Like the dates, the cacao is fully untreated, free from chemicals and pesticides, and grown with care for the soil. No added sugar, lecithin, oils, or artificial sweeteners, just pure cacao, because real food tastes good on its own.

Its flavor is rich and pleasantly bitter, with a clean, deep intensity that balances the caramel-like sweetness of the dates.

What makes dattelmond Cacao Dates different from others?

Our cacao dates are made from Kholas dates grown on our partner permaculture farm in Al-Ghat, Saudi Arabia, and coated in 100% pure cacao mass from Bolivia, nothing else. Both ingredients are untreated, additive-free, and made by nature, not by recipe.

We refuse to sell products containing unnecessary oils, fillers, soy, lecithins or artificial ingredients. We believe in real food with simple ingredients, and we'll never offer anything less than that.

Are they sweet or bitter?

They’re naturally sweet from the dates, balanced by the fine bitterness of pure cacao. The result is a rich, bittersweet contrast.

Do they contain any added sugar or sweeteners?

No. They’re made only from pitted Kholas dates and 100% cacao mass; no added sugar, oil, or artificial ingredients.

Are they vegan and gluten-free?

Yes, they’re naturally vegan and gluten-free.

How should I store them?

Keep them at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat. They don’t need refrigeration, but storing them somewhere cool (ideally under 22°C) helps preserve the texture of the cacao.

Natural cracking of the cacao coating may occur despite proper storage, as it's made from pure, single-ingredient cacao mass.

Why are some pieces slightly firmer or differently shaped than others?

Because the product is entirely natural and processed by hand. Slight differences in size and texture are normal. The dates themselves can vary slightly in firmness depending on the harvest.

Can children eat them?

Yes, but they contain 100% cacao, which is naturally bitter, so they may not appeal to very young children, but they are safe for all ages.

How long do they last?

The best-before date is printed on the jar, typically around 1.5 to 2 years from packaging. Our current batch has a listed expiration date of May 2027.
